About this piece
The arctic grayling is one of the great ghosts of Michigan's coldwater streams, and Patrick Kelly Wise brings it back to life here in original watercolor — that huge sail of a dorsal fin and the iridescent purple-blue sheen rendered by hand, then embroidered onto the front panel. The cap itself is a Port & Co brushed twill dad hat: 100% brushed cotton twill with a soft, broken-in feel, an unstructured low-profile six-panel crown, and a pre-curved bill. An adjustable back strap makes it one size fits most, and because the artwork is Patrick's own painting rather than clip-art, wearing it puts you behind an independent Northern Michigan artist you won't find stitched on anyone else's brim.
Will my embroidery match the mockup exactly?＋
The previews are digital mockups, so the finished embroidery won't be an exact match. Thread colors and texture will differ from what you see on screen, since stitched artwork reads differently than a digital image. We match Patrick's designs as closely as thread allows.

Every piece is custom-embroidered to order, so we don't accept returns or issue refunds unless the mistake is ours. If something is wrong with your order, email us right away and we will make it right.

Everything is made to order in 10 business days at our shop, then ships to you — you'll see the exact ship-by date at checkout.
Is the logo placement exactly what I see?＋
Yes — the preview is the production file. What you see on the garment is what gets printed, in the position and size shown.
What if I order the wrong size?＋
Because each piece is custom-decorated to order, we can't restock returns — double-check the size chart, and email us before your order goes to production if you need a change.
How should I wash it?＋
Turn it inside out, machine wash cold, hang dry or tumble low. The decoration is rated for years of washes when cared for this way.
